Washington, D.C. – This week, Congressman Suhas Subramanyam (VA-10) introduced the Keep Main Street Open Act to establish an emergency stimulus program for small businesses that have been financially impacted by the government shutdown. The program would be run by the Small Business Administration and be available to eligible applicants immediately.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Suhas Subramanyam (VA-10) took to the Floor of the House of Representatives in an attempt to end the shutdown by requesting passage of H.R. 247, the Health Care Affordability Act of 2025, that would permanently extend the Affordable Care Act premium tax credits that are set to expire December 31, 2025. Republicans refused to recognize Subramanyam as Speaker of the House Mike Johnson continues to not hold votes and end the government shutdown.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Suhas Subramanyam (VA-10), Ranking Member of the Military and Foreign Affairs Oversight Subcommittee, denounced Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth’s move to coerce the Pentagon Press Corps into signing an agreement that included unprecedented restrictions on journalistic independence. The 17-page agreement included a variety of restrictions, from mandatory escorts to preventing the reporting of information without Secretary Hegseth’s approval.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Suhas Subramanyam (VA-10), Ranking Member of the Military and Foreign Affairs Oversight Subcommittee, sent a letter to Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth demanding answers on the construction of a temporary Qatar Emiri Air Force facility at the Mountain Home Air Base in Idaho. Secretary Hegseth announced that he was “proud that today we're signing a letter of acceptance to build a Qatari-Emiri Air Force facility at the Mountain Home Airbase in Idaho.”
