Rep. Subramanyam Statement on Pam Bondi’s Firing

April 2, 2026

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Representative Suhas Subramanyam (VA-10), a member of the House Oversight Committee, released the following statement after reports that Attorney General Pam Bondi has been fired by President Trump:

“Pam Bondi may go down as one of the worst AGs in history. She openly violated the law repeatedly and aided one of the most corrupt administrations in modern history. She spent most of her time trying to weaponize the agency against anyone the President didn't like, and she fired countless career prosecutors for simply following the law and upholding the Constitution. I had called for her impeachment, but this works too.

Despite all this, it appears she was fired for not passing enough loyalty tests. The Senate should reject the confirmation of any replacement who continues this administration's lawlessness.

Pam Bondi may be leaving the Department of Justice, but she must still follow the law and respond to the Oversight Committee's subpoena to be deposed about covering up Epstein files. I have a lot of questions. The American people deserve answers, and the Epstein survivors deserve justice.”
