Rep. Subramanyam Statement on Allegation Former DOGE Employee Took Sensitive Social Security Data
WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Representative Suhas Subramanyam (VA-10), a member of the DOGE Oversight Subcommittee, released the following statement after whistleblower complaint that a former DOGE staffer took sensitive Social Security Administration data and planned to share it with their private employer:
“This damning allegation must be thoroughly investigated as soon as possible. This is not the first complaint we have heard about DOGE employees attempting to access sensitive information. We have been warning for more than a year that the motives of DOGE employees were not clear. While DOGE promised to cut waste, fraud and abuse, they instead have jeopardized Americans’ safety and security.
Our DOGE subcommittee should speak with the whistleblower and hold a hearing. We must ensure those responsible are held accountable, and make sure something like this never happens again.”
