Congressman Suhas Subramanyam Sends Letter to NPS Regarding Dominion’s Proposed Expansion and Urges Environmental and Historical Protection of Public Lands

Washington, D.C. – This week, Congressman Suhas Subramanyam (D-VA-10) sent a letter to the National Park Service to thoroughly evaluate Dominion’s planned transmission line right-of-way expansion through Manassas Battlefield Park. Congressman Subramanyam argued that the expansion could result in environmental damage and further erosion of historical land.

“We must protect our forested areas and the environmental integrity of our public lands, especially ones with historical significance,” said Congressman Suhas Subramanyam. “NPS needs to use all the tools at their disposal to accurately and thoroughly test the potential damages of this expansion. We should be searching for viable alternatives instead of settling for the easier and potentially more harmful option available.”
